The startup process

Wagnerguide is a web based Content management system that aims to help visitors finding what they need. Wagnerguide can be integrated with library systems to generate direct links to shelves, directly from a catalogue post.

Almost everything in Wagnerguide can be edited by the editors, including adding furniture and shelves in our 3D builder.

Refer to https://www.wagnerwayfinder.com/ for contacting us.

1. Getting started

The process to setup a Wagnerguide starts with us creating the floor plans in 3D. To do this, we need the floor plans as images or PDF documents. We then build the walls and floors and upload it to the platform.

The level of detail in the images isn't that important, we've worked with both architectural drawings and more basic outlines of the floors.

2. Adding shelves and furniture

After the floor plans has been created and uploaded to Wagnerguide, we invite you to the platform where you may add shelves and furniture via the builder.

Wagnerguide has a built in library of ~250 3D objects that can be added to the floor plans with the click of a button. The objects can then be moved, rotated, scaled and recolored.

3. Creating the menu

The menu contains buttons that help visitors navigate the guide. They can highlight objects such as shelves, toilets, and rooms, or link to other sites. The menu can be customized with translations, menu banner, uploading your own icons, and more. Read more about menu editing.

The menu is not connected to the library integration. You could choose to hide the menu and only rely on the integration to help users locate shelves.

4. Integrating with library systems

The integration is a useful tool to help your visitors find items in your library by themselves. Once set up, direct links are generated in catalogue posts that redirects to the Wagnerguide and highlights the shelf where the book is located.

We have built in support for range based classifications, such as Library of congress and Dewey, as well as truncation based schemes such as SAB, and many more. Read more about catalogue mappings.

5. Launching

Since the guide is web based, it's ready to use directly via the guide's URL. The only user requirement is having a modern browser.
